Designers from Adidas sports shoes developed a fully biodegradable shoe that is not only extremely durable but also environmentally friendly. That model now is only a prototype and was named the company code-named The Futurecraft Biofabric. The entire surface of the shoe itself is produced from Biosteel fiber. An interesting detail is that Adidas have found inspiration from the synthetic silk of spiders, which has been used in The Futurecraft Biofabric. Namely, it is the reason for the strength of the shoe forward DigitalTrends.
The innovative material has been developed jointly by Adidas and engineers of the company AMSilk. They argue that the structure of biodegradable shoes does not mean that they are not durable because it is the most common natural material yet. At the same time, their material is 15% lighter than other synthetic fibers, which contributes to ease of The Futurecraft Biofabric. In any situation, it is the most interesting product of the environmental platform of Adidas.
The company even plans to introduce more models on the market next year, using the unique material AMSilk. Forthcoming multiple tests Biosteel fiber and other synthetic materials to achieve the best balance between them and the shoes to fit the maximum fine leg consumers.
