Japan Display began producing 5″ QHD LCD displays for smartphones density over 500ppi

Japan Display is a company that was created after Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba merged their businesses with mobile displays. The idea is together to combine their efforts in creating better products and thus be more competitive in Chinese and Korean. Japan Display producing 5 QHD LCD displays smartphones density 500ppi and from the company confirmed that they have started mass production of a new generation 5-inch LTPS LCD panels for smartphones. Xperia smartphone displays also use Japan Display.

The data reveal that these displays support WQHD resolution of 2560h1440 pixels at a density of more than 500ppi, forward gsmarena. Japan Display are used new technology and materials in production to minimize energy consumption. Thanks to them, and improves the image quality. The display itself has a built in chip that allows it to be scaled frames from 1080p to 1440p resolution.
In parallel, the company introduced the second generation of Pixel Eyes in-cell technology, which allows to remove the framework around the display and ensure darker blacks. The new displays will be available to producers at the end of next month. This means that the first devices with them on the market will likely occur in the second half of this year.
