A new generation of RAM will make mobile gadgets thinner, lighter and faster

Computer experts from Singapore and Germany partnered in the development of a new generation RAM will make mobile gadgets thinner, lighter, faster for computers. They managed to create a unique chip that can not only store information but also function as a conventional processor. The full name of this module is Resistive Switching Random Acess Memory (ReRAM) and has the potential to lead to production faster and thinner mobile devices. So the scientists removed the biggest problem of modern gadgets.

Currently, all mobile devices and computers need to send information from the RAM to the CPU to process it, but it affects performance and increases power consumption. Experiments show that ReRAM can increase “at least” twice the rate of laptops, smartphones, and computers reported ComputerWorld. The very fact that this chip works as a processor means you can save space inside the device, which leads to thinner, lighter and smaller designs.
This new generation RAM will make mobile gadgets thinner, lighter, faster has awakened the interest of leading companies in the industry such as SanDisk, Panasonic, and HP. ReRAM memory is known as a memristor, which is the fourth element of the main integrated circuit. For many years, scientists classify only three of these components: the resistor, capacitor, and inductor. Adding memristor not only guarantees a higher speed but consumes much less energy.
