Adjusting the volume via the engineering menu on Android

Probably a lot of smartphone owners have faced the problem of volume. Adjust volume Android example, I did not like two things. The first – the quiet sound of the speaker when an incoming call, and the second – a very loud sound in the headphones when the input call.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HOW TO MANAGE THE VOLUME OF ANDROID

If your gadget is not connected any headset (headphones, hands-free, etc.), the volume setting will be one, and as soon as you plug in the headset – the settings will be different. For a general understanding of the talk a few examples.
Adjust volume android example 1: You are listening to music on your phone, including a loudspeaker at full power, and when you connect your headset and turn on the loud speaker, the volume may not be (can be louder or lower, whichever model of phone or version of firmware).

Adjust volume android example 2. You are watching a movie headphones volume (meaning the volume of the media) put on 40%, and then after a while, you have an incoming call, then the volume of the headphones will change in the total volume, in which case you can get a powerful sonic punch on ears. Believe me, I have often undermined the couch in such cases, the fact that the bad programmers to adjust the volume modes.
Adjust volume android example 3. You are talking on the phone and you need to go to speakerphone mode, and you notice that the speaker is not loud (or vice versa) as when listening to music; or partner became ill hear you, it is because a microphone can have different sensitivities to different modes. Also, when you connect a headset in the same situation and you turn the handsfree mode – again other settings. That’s because Android manages volume.
So let’s look at how and what can be done if a little over “Engineering Menu”.
Before you make any changes recommended to read the full article and to understand, and then have to experiment. Also take a piece of paper and write down all the values which were default in case something goes wrong. Start engineering menu, you can use the telephone dialing: prescribe the following combinations. On it:

* # * # 54298 # * # * or * # * # 3646633 # * # * – smartphones based on MTK processor
* # * # 8255 # * # * or * # * # 4636 # * # * – smartphones Samsung
* # * # 3424 # * # * or * # * # 4636 # * # * or * # * # 8255 # * # * – HTC smartphones

Congratulations, you are involved in engineering menu. Keep in mind that the menu on different phones may slightly differ in structure. We find the «Audio» section and go to him. Upon entering we see a bunch of unknown lines (Mode). That is what these regimes in Android:

  • Normal Mode (setting section in a normal or typical) – so active mode when not connected to anything smartphone;
  • Headset Mode (headset mode) – this mode is activated after connecting headphones or external speakers;
  • LoudSpeaker Mode (speaker mode) – it is activated, when the smart nothing is connected, and you turn on the speakerphone during a phone call;
  • Headset_LoudSpeaker Mode (mode when the headset is connected) – this mode is activated, when the smart connect headphones or external speakers, and you turn on the speakerphone during a phone call;
  • Speech Enhancement (talk time on the phone) – this mode is activated in the normal talk time on the phone with him or anything not connected (headset, external speakers) and does not include speakerphone.

IN THE LAST THREE SECTION IS BETTER NOT TO POKE THE NOSE:

  • Debug Info – it is not clear why – info on the backup information or debugging;
  • Speech Logger – is not fully understood, most likely logging during negotiations or write chatter. If the tick «Enable speech log», after the completion of the phone call in the root directory of the memory card are relevant files. Their name and structure receives the following form: Wed_Jun_2014__07_02_23.vm (Sreda_Iyul_2014__vremya07_02_23.vm).
What are these files and how they can be useful to us – it is unclear. Catalog / sd card / VOIP_DebugInfo (which is a file storage location information for backup) – is created automatically, if you create it manually, after the conversation, he will remain empty.
  • Audio longer – a good software for audio recording, which supports quick search, playback, and saves it.
If you come to these regimes with the mind, you can adjust the volume of Android smartphone or tablet as you will want to own. At the entrance to any of the modes, your look will be available to the different volume settings (Type). Here is a list of basic settings that you need to know (Figure 4.):

  • Sip – settings for Internet calls;
  • Mic – adjust the microphone sensitivity;
  • Sph – setting the earpiece (the one that is applied in the ears);
  • Sph2 – setting a second earpiece (I do not have it);
  • Sid – skipping, changing these parameters in the negotiations on your smartphone or tablet, you can hear yourself instead of the interlocutor;
  • Media – Multimedia volume setting;
  • Ring – the volume setting of the incoming call;
  • FMR – Volume adjustment FM-radio.

Further, under the item selection options available to us a list of volume levels (Level) (Figure 5). For a better understanding – of 7 levels, from level 0 to level 6. Each level corresponds to a single “click” on the rocker control smartphone or tablet volume. Accordingly, level 0 – the quietest level and level 6 – the loudest signal. Each level can be assigned to their values, which are located in the cell Value is 0 ~ 255, and should not go beyond the range of 0 to 255 (the lower the value, the lower the sound). To do this, you need to delete the old values of the cell, and then enter the new (desired) and click «Set» (the one that close to the cell) to be assigned (Fig. 6). When using the maximum values, be careful, because the speakers can produce unpleasant sounds uncharacteristic as rattles and other unpleasant effects.

Warning Before changes overwrite all default values (when something goes wrong).
Further, in the bottom section seen Max Vol. 0 ~ 160 (I, for example, Max Vol. 0 ~ 172, depending on the manufacturer) (Fig. 6). This section is defined by the maximum volume capacity, it is one at all level.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

  • How to change the default application settings on Android
  • How to extract the APK-files of Android devices. [Step-by-step instruction]
  • How to change a ringtone or notification on your Android device
  • How to remove the search box «Google Search” from the desktop to Android
  • Edit mode in the engineering menu

EXAMPLE 1: HOW TO INCREASE THE VOLUME OF AN INCOMING CALL?

For this need to go to the engineering menu, motti skat «Audio» section, go to the «LoudSpeaker Mode» and the volume settings mode select «Ring» – adjust the volume of the incoming call. Then sequentially change (increase) the value of the signal levels (level 0 – level 6). Also, for greater effect, you can increase the value of the section Max Vol. 0 ~ 160, if it is not the maximum (at I exposed – 155, with a higher value of the speaker begins to “rattle”).

EXAMPLE 2: HOW TO INCREASE THE VOLUME DURING A CALL? (THE INCREASE IN THE VOLUME OF A SMALL SPEAKER THAT IS APPLIED TO THE EAR).

Again we come to the already known to us the engineering menu,  «Audio» section, go into a special mode «Normal Mode», in it choose Sph – this parameter is responsible for the change in the value of the signal levels ranging from level 0 to level 6. Install the right to our level. In the Max Vol. 0 ~ 160, can also be changed to a higher volume capacity.

EXAMPLE 3: INCREASE VOLUME LEVEL AND MICROPHONE SENSITIVITY SPOKE SMARTPHONE

To adjust and set the desired volume level and microphone sensitivity conversational need to go to “Menu Engineering»> «Audio»> «Normal Mode»> choose Mic- adjust the microphone sensitivity, and for all levels (level 0 – level 6) and assign one the same value, such as 240. Now, the interlocutor should hear you better.

EXAMPLE 4: HOW TO INCREASE THE VOLUME OF THE AUDIO RECORDING TIME MOVIE?

Assume the appearance of the need to increase the level of the audio recording level during recording movies, then in the engineering menu for our speaker (LoudSpeaker Mode) change the settings of microphone sensitivity (mic), increase all the values at all levels (level 0 – level 6), for example expose to 240 at each level. I remind you to press the button (set) – restart favorite gadget and enjoy.
By the way, do not forget after each edit a particular item to press the button «Set». This action is to fix and take your team to perform. Otherwise, your settings are not activated by the user. In addition, a certain number of mobile devices require a restart for the changes to take effect (turn off and turn on the device).
Good luck to you in the experiments, if something is not clear – write in the comments. We look forward to your responses.
